Model Of The Week ; Petita Mwanza

Petita Mwanza a law student from Lusaka Zambia won the title of the first ever Zambia's supermodel in 2010... She has modelled for nadir Tati-(Angola),Patricia Mbela-(Kenya),Brenda Nambi-(Uganda),and many more amazing African designers at the swahili fashion week,back home she is a muse for Faye designs  by Petros Giannakakis who is based in capetown.Swahili fashion Week was her 1st  big international show,she has also done a charity show in Germany @ Miss Galaxy..The young lady would love to work with David Tlale and she would also love to take part @ Africa fashion week and london fashion week........

EMBARRASSING MOMENT: .eeeessshhh I've had so many embarrassing moments but I walk with my head high knowing we all get am not a perfect human being n am not the 1st and last person getting embarrassed,but iv fallen a lot in public.

.What made you first become a model?

I've always wanted to model,watched naomi campbell ol my life!
.How did you feel when you did your first ever fashion show or photo shoo?t

doing my 1st shoot was nerve-racking,am very confident wen it comes to my work so I try my best to kick the nerves n give the client the best!

The zambia fashion week was my 1st fashion show,I worked on my walk 4 the longest time possible,once on stage I kept telling myself this,'come on gal!u were meant to do this,now work it!!I never gave any1 the chance to intimidate me regardless of the fact that I was the youngest in the show then.

 .How do you feel about the controversy of the size 0 debate in the industry?

its sad that women go to xtreme lenghts to get 2 a size 0,I once had the same pressure wen I was younger n I was so unhappy,things r changing clients look 4 different looks and am glad I've never been turned down 4 not been the typical model size,I love my body n I work it!

.What are your guilty pleasures food wise?

am very indiscplined eater,I love fried chicken n chocolate..feeling guilty now...

What beauty tips do you swear by?

I never go to bed with makeup!its a lifestyle..

If a young girl wanted to be a model what would your advice for them be?

My advice to that girl would be that they should b passionate about what they do,don't model because people say you would make a great model,do it because its what u love and always wanted to do,its a very competitive industry so u have to be sharp!

HOW DO YOU KEEP A FIT AND HEALTHY BODY?

I go jogging every now and then.

my style is chic,sexy but not over the top

.I was very insecure wen I was younger,only because I lacked confidence and wasn't sure who I was,now I embrace my beautiful and bold features,I don't look like anybody else,I am me and am happy with who I am,I don't surround myself with negative people.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CITY IN THE WORLD TO VISIT AND WHY? WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL TO NEXT?

.cape town is beautiful and peaceful the scenery is amazing.I want to visit milan and new york for obvious reasons(fashion)

WHAT MOTIVATES OR INSPIRES YOU TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS? WHAT ARE SOME OF THOSE GOALS?

 U would be shocked that somehow its the stingy people that motivate me to work harder,successful people also inspire me.am gona be done with my law degree soon and am just excited for the future..above all,the word of God motivates me,if God says I can do it,I surely will.

IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND AND COULD ONLY HAVE ONE BEAUTY PRODUCT AND ONE FASHION ITEM WITH YOU, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

eclectic classic with a bit of funk, tomboyish, Mix and MIss(GaTsh) 

2. What is your favorite pattern in clothes?


 Pleats, flowing, high waists, undefined patterns with bold prints, shoulder pads mme m not too particular because again a piece of clothing has to grab ur attention and when the pattern dsnt do it for u, the sewing machine can always help..

3. Which FIVE clothes item would you save from a burning fire?


now dats a hard one..mmmh..my platform cork heels, red gladiator sandals (coz m da only one hu has them around town, or even country, now dats treasure), my yellow wide leg shorts they are classic, my bold printed jackets, My red apple shapped bag...but again, i love my whole closet joh..id find a way to grab as much as i can..!!

Andrea Bomo( blogger), Andrea 3000, the new transformed Solange, My mum. but Icons can only just inspire, true style is self cultivated.

 I dnt hav a particuler fav store, maybe across boarders then id say YDE, i shop anywhere and evrywhere rily.

Nicky Minaj, she pretty, but she is just overdoing it and tying to much.. she shouldnt try to be Lady Gaga!!

 beauty items i cant live without..ooh yes LIP GLOSS i used to be like licking my bottom lip but kea iteka these days,slowly behaving like lady should:-) , Black opel powder and hand lotion..perfume also!!

 Yves Saint Laurent, one of the designers that pioneered minimal, androgyness style for women, Mpho Kuaho she has nurtured talent,love her.. David Tlale.

eish joh, i wudnt remember!! but m sure i have..hahaha..

a nike jacket bout 800bucks, sissyBoy heels-500, from ther its 400 down.ga ke ture, wa bona:-) ..dnt know bout da items i got as gifts, mayb there is sumthing much expensive than the ones iv mentioned above..



11. FASHION DOS AND DONT?


DOs- do YOU,buy timeless pieces, ask for fashion advice/help if you need it GaTsh is a call away;-)..... DONT- depend on trends, buy expensive clothes when you cant afford them. 



 12.any fashion advice?


 Your closet is your planet, rule IT. learn to play around with your clothes and you do not always have to buy new clothes everytime you go out. be smart with budget, save and shop for sale items.. and its ok to shop for winter items in summer coz u get to buy at lower prices..
